Pour la cin\u00e9aste Sally Ngoiri, raconter des histoires a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 plus qu'un simple divertissement, mais un outil qui suscite le changement. Fervente d\u00e9fenseure de la justice climatique, elle est profond\u00e9ment convaincue du pouvoir du cin\u00e9ma pour fa\u00e7onner le discours public. Ses domaines de pr\u00e9dilection se situent dans deux domaines\u00a0: le changement climatique et la gestion des d\u00e9chets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette mission l'a men\u00e9e au bootcamp du Green Media Accelerator (GMA), une initiative de trois partenaires du Consortium pour les droits de l'homme et les m\u00e9dias (CHARM). Par l'interm\u00e9diaire du Magamba Network, du Fojo Institute et du Wits Centre for Journalism, ce bootcamp visait \u00e0 donner aux startups m\u00e9diatiques les moyens de raconter des histoires sur le changement climatique, en leur offrant un mentorat et une bourse de d\u00e9marrage pour produire du contenu pour un m\u00e9dia. Sally y a vu l'occasion d'affiner son art de raconter et de valoriser des r\u00e9cits environnementaux souvent m\u00e9connus. Repr\u00e9sentant sa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de production, Kick Ass Films, Sally a int\u00e9gr\u00e9 l'acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur avec une id\u00e9e audacieuse\u00a0: explorer les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s de la gestion des d\u00e9chets au Kenya et remettre en question les discours sur le recyclage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Une partie de nos reportages s'int\u00e9resse aux innovations locales. Par exemple, nous mettrons en lumi\u00e8re un cr\u00e9ateur de mode qui transforme les d\u00e9chets en v\u00eatements pr\u00eats \u00e0 d\u00e9filer, transformant litt\u00e9ralement les d\u00e9chets en tr\u00e9sors.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong>Ally Ngoiri, PDG de Kick Ass Films, a partag\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Son documentaire, soutenu par une bourse GMA, examinera des questions cruciales :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comment les d\u00e9chets sont-ils r\u00e9ellement trait\u00e9s au Kenya ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Les entreprises respectent-elles leurs engagements en mati\u00e8re de recyclage ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et quelles politiques existent, ou manquent-elles, pour soutenir de v\u00e9ritables solutions environnementales ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outre la production du film, elle a l'intention de le projeter dans diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9coles et dans des salles communautaires, afin de sensibiliser \u00e0 l'impact du changement climatique sur la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et en particulier \u00e0 son lien avec la violence bas\u00e9e sur le genre (VBG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab J'ai \u00e9galement \u00e0 c\u0153ur d'accompagner les jeunes femmes de 18 \u00e0 25 ans, car c'est \u00e0 cet \u00e2ge que se construisent la plupart des carri\u00e8res cin\u00e9matographiques. J'ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 eu des cohortes qui ont suivi ces formations et qui produisent des histoires positives et bien document\u00e9es \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Sally Ngoiri, PDG de Kick Ass Films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L'engagement de Sally en faveur du r\u00e9cit climatique va bien au-del\u00e0 d'un seul projet. Elle a d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 The Greenhouse, un documentaire pour Showmax qui suit le combat d'une famille kenyane pour sauver sa for\u00eat ancestrale. Elle d\u00e9veloppe \u00e9galement Waste Land, un documentaire explorant la gestion des d\u00e9chets et le d\u00e9veloppement durable, et Wild at Heart, un film en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle qui examine les complexit\u00e9s \u00e9thiques de la r\u00e9habilitation de la faune sauvage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensemble, leurs parcours r\u00e9v\u00e8lent un puissant r\u00e9cit de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9, de r\u00e9silience et d'\u00e9conomie circulaire, o\u00f9 ce qui est jet\u00e9 n'est pas la fin, mais le d\u00e9but de quelque chose de beau et de durable \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Sally Ngoiri, PDG de Kick Ass Films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
